Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, Chairwoman of Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company, has been honored by Tatler in its prestigious list of “Most Influential Figures of 2025”: an authoritative annual ranking that recognizes individuals who shape trends, drive meaningful change, and create positive impact across Asia.

According to Tatler, Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao is recognized for her transformative, resilient, and cross-border influence, extending beyond business into education, innovation, and human-centered social initiatives. Her impact is described as substantive, contemporary, and enduring, contributing long-term value to Vietnam, the region, and the global community.

This marks the second consecutive year (2024–2025) that Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao has been included in Tatler’s list of influential figures. Previously, in 2019, the Vietjet leader was also the only Vietnamese entrepreneur named among Tatler’s 110 Most Influential People in Asia in Philanthropy.

As the founder and leader of Vietnam’s largest private airline, Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao is widely regarded as a symbol of the modern female leader: bold, intelligent, and compassionate. Under her leadership, Vietjet has evolved from a new-generation airline into a dynamic global aviation brand, operating an extensive network across the Asia-Pacific region and contributing to stronger connectivity in people, trade, and cultural exchange among nations.

At the award ceremony held on December 17 in Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. Ho Ngoc Yen Phuong, Deputy Chief Financial Officer of Vietjet, represented Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao at the event.

Alongside her business achievements, Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao remains steadfast in advancing initiatives in education, innovation, women’s empowerment, support for vulnerable communities, and sustainable development. For her, growth is not measured solely by scale or profit, but by the human values cultivated and spread throughout society.

As Southeast Asia’s first self-made female billionaire, Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao has been recognized globally, including being named among Bloomberg’s Top 50 Global Leaders, Forbes’ 100 Most Powerful Women in the World, and Business Insider Australia’s 100 People Transforming the Asian Economy. She has also been awarded the Legion of Honour by the French government, the country’s highest distinction, in recognition of her outstanding global contributions.

Tatler’s “Most Influential Figures” ranking is an annual platform honoring outstanding individuals across business, culture, innovation, and social impact in Asia. The 2025 list features approximately 700 influential figures from seven countries and territories, representing the voices that inspire and shape the future of the region.
